Nigerian music sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has set a new record for the most-watched TikTok livestream in Africa, attracting 389,800 viewers in total. The milestone was achieved during a livestream on Wednesday, October 30, which he co-hosted with popular TikTok stars Peller, Jarvis, and Jo Blaq.
At the peak of the session, over 164,000 viewers tuned in simultaneously to watch. During the livestream, Davido received over 377 “lion” gifts on TikTok—each valued at $400. Demonstrating his generosity, Davido announced that the funds from these gifts would go to his co-hosts, Peller, Jarvis, and Jo Blaq.
Interestingly, Peller previously held the record for the most-watched TikTok livestream in Africa, a feat he achieved in collaboration with singer Tiwa Savage. Davido’s record-breaking livestream underscores his massive influence on social media and within the African entertainment industry.
