Cardi B is making headlines again, this time for a fiery back-and-forth with her former producer SwiftOnDemand over alleged unpaid royalties. Swift, who contributed to both of Cardi’s Gangsta Bitch Music mixtapes, took to social media to air grievances about financial disputes, claiming he’s owed more than he’s received.
Swift slid into Cardi’s DMs with a link to an article about her spending habits, accusing her of breaking promises to take care of him financially. He later issued a warning to up-and-coming producers, saying: “Make sure your paperwork is right before working with any artist because things like this can happen.”
But Cardi wasn’t having it. In a heated voice note, the Bronx rapper fired back, saying: “Shut the [expletive] up! You believe everything you see on the internet. I have to feed my three kids. I pay my own bills. So shut the [expletive] up!”
She also took the argument public, commenting under Swift’s post:
“Tell them how I gave you my lawyer’s numbers and all my managers’ contacts—new and old. You’re upset because our first manager, Shaft, put you in a bad deal that my team tried to help you out of. I don’t owe you anything!”
Cardi revealed that she had been stuck in her own unfair contract with the same manager, which cost her $11 million to resolve. She emphasized that the rights to the mixtapes in question are tied to the old label, not her current one.
As for why she hasn’t worked with Swift since 2017, Cardi didn’t hold back:
“You’re mad because I don’t work with you anymore. No offense, but I just don’t like that sound anymore. You’re acting like I owe you money for a mixtape I don’t even own the rights to.”
Screenshots shared by gossip blogger Ken Barbie appeared to back Cardi’s claims, showing her offering Swift legal advice and assistance with royalties. Cardi also reiterated that Swift’s issues should be directed at their former manager, not her.
SwiftOnDemand wasn’t done, accusing Cardi of dodging his attempts to reach out and questioning her claims about Offset’s involvement in his case. He snarkily added:
“So you wrote all those songs and made those beats by yourself then? Okay, copy Cardi the producer/songwriter.”
The feud has ignited a whirlwind of reactions online, with fans and critics weighing in on both sides. As the dust settles, one thing’s for sure—Cardi B is not backing down.
