California rockers Buckcherry were involved in a deadly multi-vehicle crash in South Carolina early Friday morning while traveling on their tour bus to their next gig. The band posted the news on Instagram Stories, revealing their bus was involved in the accident on I-26 in Spartanburg County around 2 AM.
The band confirmed that all members of Buckcherry and their touring crew are safe and unharmed. But they also shared the tragic news that police confirmed a fatality as a result of the collision that occurred ahead of their bus. The band offered their deepest condolences to the victim’s family.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation said a motorist stepped out of his vehicle on I-26 East and was struck and killed by a Toyota sedan during the accident. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash prompted officials to shut down all eastbound lanes for several hours.
Buckcherry has been traveling around the U.S. on their national “Roar Like Thunder Tour”. The band’s scheduled performances are expected to continue as planned, with their next concert set for Key West, Florida.
