The wait is almost over. Ariana Grande has officially announced her eighth studio album, titled Petal, set for release on July 31 via Republic Records. The project features 12 tracks and marks the singer’s first full-length release since 2024’s Eternal Sunshine.
Ariana Grande’s eighth studio album arrives as the singer balances music with her recent acting work. She co-wrote and co-produced the record with longtime collaborator Ilya Salmanzadeh, the Swedish-Persian producer behind much of her previous work.
Grande describes the project with a floral metaphor. In a statement accompanying the announcement, she said Petal represents “something that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging”. The imagery suggests an album born from difficulty but focused on resilience and emergence.
The black-and-white cover art reflects this softer, more organic direction. Grande appears with her brunette hair falling over her face, smiling naturally in a rare moment of wearing her hair down.
Fans won’t wait long to hear the new material live. Grande kicks off her Eternal Sunshine Tour on June 6, with 41 sold-out shows spanning the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom . The singer has hinted this could be her last tour “for a long time,” making both the album and the live shows especially significant for her fanbase .
