Love & Hip Hop alum Alexis Skyy is facing a lawsuit from a former friend who claims she orchestrated a violent attack on him in the lobby of his Atlanta apartment complex. Anthony Gaskin filed the legal action against Skyy and two alleged accomplices, claiming the October 2024 ambush was captured on surveillance video and left him with lasting physical and psychological injuries.
According to the lawsuit obtained by multiple outlets, Gaskin alleges that Skyy, along with Robmira Taylor and Robert Thorne, were “lying in wait” for him in the lobby of his upscale Atlanta residence before launching the attack. The confrontation reportedly escalated quickly, with Gaskin claiming he was “violently attacked” by the group.
Surveillance footage of the incident was published by TMZ shortly after it occurred in October 2024, showing a chaotic scene unfolding in the apartment lobby. At the time, police investigated Skyy for simple assault, though no charges were immediately filed. The existence of video evidence could prove critical as the case moves forward, potentially providing visual confirmation of the events Gaskin describes in his complaint.
Gaskin’s lawsuit details a range of injuries he claims resulted from the alleged assault. He states he required medical, dental, psychological, and chiropractic treatment following the incident. The physical toll was significant, but the lawsuit emphasizes the psychological impact as well.
According to court documents, Gaskin says he has begun suffering from public panic attacks since the alleged assault . He also claims he lost wages due to his inability to work while recovering from his injuries, adding financial damages to the physical and emotional harm he alleges.
In an unusual move, Gaskin is also suing the apartment complex where the incident occurred. He argues that the building had inadequate security and failed to protect him when Skyy and the others were waiting for him in the lobby. This negligence claim could have broader implications for how luxury apartment buildings handle security protocols, particularly when residents face threats from known individuals.
Gaskin is seeking unspecified compensatory damages for his injuries and losses, as well as punitive damages designed to “send a message” about the alleged conduct.
Alexis Skyy has not remained silent about the incident. Her manager, TC Copper, issued a statement addressing the allegations, saying the focus is on “resolving this situation privately and legally”. Copper referenced the video footage, claiming Skyy was leaving the building when Gaskin allegedly insulted her, and that “the person that was with the victim stopped anything from happening”.
Skyy herself has previously addressed the situation, downplaying the severity of Gaskin’s injuries in interviews with The Shade Room. “He is sitting playing the whole victim like he has real mental health issues,” she alleged. She also claimed Gaskin started the altercation by throwing an air freshener at her off camera.
The lobby incident appears to be the culmination of a deteriorating relationship between the former friends. Skyy’s team claims that approximately three weeks before the apartment lobby attack, Gaskin confronted her about her parenting in front of her child. Gaskin has reportedly denied this, stating his comments were merely an expression of his opinion on her parenting choices, not an attack.
This prior alleged dispute adds complexity to the legal battle, suggesting a history of animosity that may have contributed to the October confrontation. Skyy has continued to criticize Gaskin on social media, telling him in a video last year, “You have a lot of legal actions against you right now. So while you’re playing and trying to attack me, it’s a whole new year… If this is the fame that you want we’re gonna spill the whole truth”.
The lawsuit now moves into discovery, where both sides will have access to the surveillance footage, medical records, and witness statements. The video evidence will likely play a central role in determining whether Skyy’s actions are deemed justified self-defense or an unprovoked assault as Gaskin claims.
For Alexis Skyy, known for her appearances on Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood and her public relationships with rappers like Fetty Wap, the lawsuit represents another chapter of legal scrutiny in the public eye. For Gaskin, the pursuit of damages, both compensatory and punitive, appears aimed at holding his former friend accountable for a confrontation that he says changed his life.
