Nearly eight months after former 90 Day Fiancé stars Leida Margaretha and Eric Rosenbrook announced the devastating loss of their newborn daughter; a Wisconsin state agency has delivered a chilling determination: the death was not an accident. The Adams County Health and Human Services Department’s initial assessment has ruled the passing of five-week-old Alisa Eleanor Rosenbrook as “non-accidental,” with findings that specifically point to the infant’s mother. This infant death investigation remains active, and while no criminal charges have been filed yet in connection with the baby’s death, the implications are profound.
According to documents filed with the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families, investigators found “a preponderance of the evidence to substantiate maltreatment of physical abuse to the infant by the mother.” Leida Margaretha’s own attorney, Taylor Hart, has confirmed this finding to multiple outlets, though he declined further comment.
The ruling stems from an incident in early July 2025. On July 5, emergency services received a 911 call from a residence in Adams, Wisconsin, reporting an unresponsive one-month-old infant. The baby was rushed to Gunderson Moundview Hospital, then airlifted to UW Health American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison. Despite five days on life support, little Alisa passed away on July 9, 2025.
The days leading up to the emergency call were marked by chaos. In the early morning hours of July 5, just hours before the baby was found unresponsive. Eric Rosenbrook was arrested and charged with domestic battery and domestic disorderly conduct. Online footage from that night showed Margaretha alleging that Rosenbrook, who had been drinking, struck her when she wouldn’t let him hold Alisa.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office later issued a statement confirming that a formal investigation into the infant’s death had been launched, as is standard procedure. “Any time an infant death occurs in Adams County a formal investigation takes place,” the statement read.
Records show that child protective services had been in contact with the family just one week before the tragedy. On June 28, 2025, the agency screened a report alleging neglect of Margaretha’s 12-year-old son from a previous relationship. While that specific allegation was ultimately unsubstantiated, it placed the family under official scrutiny shortly before the infant’s hospitalization.
Days before her daughter’s death, Margaretha shared a harrowing post on social media. “Dear God… You can take away my life but do not take away my daughter’s life…” she wrote. “She just born… And God… If this is going to be my lesson to appreciate life since I’ve been struggling with suicidal thoughts, then take away my trauma… Help. Me. Find. Peace. Help. Me. Forgive.”
Following the baby’s death, Rosenbrook announced the loss on Facebook. “It destroys me and shatters my world to announce that over the weekend, tragedy has struck,” he wrote. “Yesterday at 12:53 PM after 5 days on life support, my beloved daughter, little Alisa Eleanor Rosenbrook, slipped the surely bonds to join her grandfather Tom.”
The couple first appeared on 90 Day Fiancé Season 6 in 2018, quickly becoming one of the franchise’s most controversial pairs. Viewers watched as Rosenbrook, then 40, met Margaretha, then 29, on an international dating site. Their storyline was dominated by Margaretha’s demand that Rosenbrook kick his 19-year-old daughter Tasha out of the family home, which he did, drawing widespread condemnation from fans.
Even as this infant death investigation continues, Margaretha faces an additional mountain of legal problems. She is currently battling 24 felony charges in Wisconsin, including six counts of wire fraud, 10 counts of forgery, one count of theft between $10,000 and $100,000 from a business, and seven counts of bail jumping. Prosecutors allege she committed these crimes between November 2023 and March 2024. She has pleaded not guilty.
