Leave it to Zendaya to turn a red carpet into a breathtaking work of mythological art. For the highly anticipated New York premiere of Christopher Nolan’s epic film The Odyssey, the beloved international style icon and her longtime image architect, Law Roach, delivered what might be her most theatrical and boundary-pushing look of the year. Stepping out in a dramatic, winged masterpiece from avant-garde label Matières Fécales, the actress looked completely angelic while channeling the supernatural energy of her on-screen goddess character.
Instead of taking the expected route of classical Grecian drapery for the press tour, Zendaya chose a highly symbolic and sculptural ivory creation titled “The Ange” (The Angel) from the Matières Fécales Fall 2025 collection.
The dress itself is a marvel of architectural design, featuring a structured, strapless bodice with a plunging geometric neckline wrapped in delicate vertical micro-pleating. A dramatic thigh-high slit and a sheer, floating tulle train gave the structure a weightless quality.
The absolute showstopper, however, was the pair of massive, feathered white wings attached to the back. Covered in raw-edged, layered feathers that trailed elegantly down to the floor, the wings transformed Zendaya into a striking, mythical guardian.
True to form, Zendaya and Roach did not stop at the dress. To elevate the ethereal silhouette, the actress wore custom white heel-less wedges, designed through a unique collaboration between Matières Fécales and Christian Louboutin. Because the shoes completely lack a traditional heel, they added an alien-like, gravity-defying posture that made the entire look appear to float.
For beauty, Roach kept the focus squarely on the dramatic silhouette. Zendaya’s hair was swept back into a long, relaxed, undone braid cascading down her back, adding an earthy, warrior-like balance to the fantasy of the gown. Soft, glowing makeup and dazzling diamond earrings from Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie Collection completed the unforgettable fashion chapter.
