Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has opened up about the chilling interaction he had with his daughter, Alabama, right before boarding a flight that nearly took his life in September 2008. Speaking during an appearance on the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast, the iconic musician detailed how his then-2-year-old daughter hysterically pleaded with him not to leave home.

Barker recalled that Alabama was crying uncontrollably before he left for his gig in South Carolina. She delivered a haunting warning, telling him that “the roof’s gonna come off.” The story surrounding the Travis Barker Alabama premonition plane crash account highlights a series of bad omens and gut feelings Barker experienced prior to boarding the ill-fated Learjet.

“She’s like, ‘Dad, don’t go!’ She’s bawling and she doesn’t usually do that. She’s like, ‘The roof’s gonna come off,’ and I’m like, ‘What is she talking about?'” — Travis Barker

The plane crashed during takeoff due to blown tires, resulting in the loss of four lives and leaving Barker with critical burn injuries. Reflecting on the tragedy, Barker shared that he has learned to trust his instincts moving forward.
