Comedian and actress Tiffany Haddish has officially resolved her 2022 Georgia DUI case after entering a guilty plea to a misdemeanor alcohol-related driving charge. By reaching a plea deal with prosecutors, the 46-year-old Girls Trip star averted a full criminal trial and avoided serving additional time behind bars.

Haddish appeared virtually for the Fayette County hearing, where she pleaded guilty to “DUI driving less safe”. In exchange, prosecutors dropped all remaining traffic charges stemming from her January 2022 arrest in Peachtree City, where police responded to reports of a driver asleep behind the wheel.

Addressing the Tiffany Haddish DUI guilty plea no jail time probation Georgia disposition, the judge credited Haddish for time served following her initial arrest. As part of the sentence, she received 12 months of probation, a driver’s license suspension in the state of Georgia, 40 hours of community service, and a requirement to complete a alcohol evaluation and DUI course.

“Haddish’s legal team previously argued that the multi-year delay violated her right to a speedy trial… however, the court ruled that delays were partially requested by the defense.” — Fayette County State Court Ruling

The court previously denied a motion by Haddish’s defense team seeking to throw out the charges over procedural delays. With the plea deal finalized, the long-standing legal matter is now officially closed.
