NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal has officially added yet another extraordinary title to his already legendary résumé, stepping further into his lifelong passion for law enforcement.
During the FBI National Academy’s 299th session graduation in Quantico, Virginia, FBI Director Kash Patel officially named O’Neal an honorary special agent.
Graduation Recognition: Patel recognized 265 law enforcement officials from across the United States who completed the rigorous FBI program before bestowing the special honor upon Shaq.
A Long History in Uniform: O’Neal’s law enforcement journey spans decades, starting when he became a reserve officer for the Los Angeles Port Police in 2002. He was later sworn in as a reserve officer for the Miami Beach Police Department in 2005, named an honorary U.S. Deputy Marshal, and promoted to Chief of Community Relations for Georgia’s Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
A Playful Callout: True to his comedic form, Shaq closed out his remarks by playfully instructing his fellow agents to immediately arrest his good friend and television co-host Charles Barkley on sight!
