YouTube sensation Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson is officially a married man. The 28-year-old content creator tied the knot with his longtime partner, author and fellow gaming personality Thea Booysen, in an intimate, week-long celebration on Richard Branson’s 74-acre private resort, Necker Island, in the British Virgin Islands. Sharing photos from the romantic ceremony across social media, Donaldson delighted his hundreds of millions of subscribers with a simple caption: “I found MrsBeast and it was the best day of my life”.
The MrBeast marries Thea Booysen festivities kicked off on July 14, leading up to an intimate wedding ceremony attended by roughly 70 close friends and family members. Guests enjoyed an array of island activities throughout the week, including kitesurfing, snorkeling, and interacting with local wildlife.
Officiated by an ordained minister who is a close family friend, the ceremony saw the bride walk down the aisle in a custom lacy gown by Nicole + Felicia Couture, while Donaldson wore a classic Ralph Lauren tux with a white jacket. The newly married couple made their grand reception entrance and shared their first dance to Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ hit single “Die With a Smile”.
Donaldson and Booysen first crossed paths in 2022 during a trip the YouTuber took to Booysen’s native South Africa. Meeting through mutual friends over dinner, Booysen later recalled being pleasantly surprised by Donaldson’s genuine, down-to-earth personality and intelligence. After connecting online and making their red-carpet debut at the Kids’ Choice Awards in April 2022, the couple got engaged on Christmas Day in 2024 surrounded by family.
The wedding arrives during a landmark period for Donaldson, who recently made global history by becoming the first individual content creator to surpass 500 million subscribers on YouTube.
