The “Queen of Pop” is facing a heartbreaking loss following her triumphant return to the desert. Madonna has officially filed a police report after several irreplaceable archival outfits—the very ones she wore during her surprise Coachella 2026 appearance—went missing. The incident, which occurred during the festival’s second weekend, has turned a “full circle moment” into a desperate search for what the singer calls a “part of my history.” The Madonna Coachella 2026 missing clothes saga is currently under investigation by the Indio Police Department.
Madonna shocked fans on Friday night, April 17, when she crashed Sabrina Carpenter’s headlining set. Wearing the same vintage boots and corset from her legendary 2006 “Confessions” performance, she joined Carpenter for a medley of “Vogue,” “Like a Prayer,” and a debut track from her upcoming album, Confessions II.
However, the high of the performance was short-lived. According to a missing property report filed on Saturday, April 18, two bags containing her performance wardrobe and jewelry were last seen around 1:30 a.m. on a golf cart at the Empire Polo Grounds.
Madonna took to Instagram on Monday to plead with her 20 million followers for the return of the items. The missing pieces include:
• A vintage Gucci jacket
• Her iconic archival corset
• The dress worn during the performance
• Various other “pieces from the same era” and high-end jewelry.
“These aren’t just clothes, they are part of my history,” Madonna wrote, emphasizing that these items were pulled directly from her personal archives for this specific milestone.
While the initial headlines screamed “theft,” the Indio Police Department has a more mundane though equally frustrating theory. Preliminary investigations suggest the bags may have simply fallen off the golf cart while staff were transporting them to a bus. The loss was only realized once the team arrived at their hotel. As of now, police state there is “no evidence” to suggest the items were intentionally stolen.
Madonna is currently offering a reward for the safe return of the bags, asking any “kind soul” who may have found them near the festival grounds to reach out to her team immediately.
