The high-fashion world of Miranda Priestly just found its new heartbeat. In the final trailer release for The Devil Wears Prada 2, fans were treated to the first listen of a powerhouse collaboration between pop icon Lady Gaga and genre-bending star Doechii. Titled “Runway,” the track serves as the sonic centerpiece for the 2026 fashion movie soundtrack, blending Gaga’s theatrical pop grandeur with Doechii’s sharp, modern rap edge.

Unveiled by 20th Century Studios on April 6, 2026, “Runway” underscores the updated, digital-forward tone of the sequel. While the original 2006 film relied on indie-pop and techno-lite tracks to define the Runway Magazine aesthetic, the 2026 version leans into a heavy, club-driven sound.

Produced by a team of hitmakers rumored to include BloodPop and Jack Antonoff, the song features a pulsating bassline and a rhythmic “walk, walk, walk” hook that perfectly mirrors the movement of a catwalk. It’s a glossy, high-energy anthem designed to bridge the gap between the film’s legacy and the contemporary influencer era.

The collaboration isn’t Gaga’s only contribution to the project. Reports from insiders suggest that the Oscar-winner will also make a cameo appearance in the film. Spotted filming in Milan last October, Gaga is expected to play herself, appearing as a guest of honor at a high-stakes fashion show hosted by Meryl Streep’s Miranda Priestly.

Her partnership with Doechii for “Runway” marks their first official musical collaboration. Doechii, who has dominated the charts with her experimental flow, brings a necessary grit to the track that balances Gaga’s polished vocals. Together, they have created what critics are already calling the defining “get ready with me” song of the year.

The full soundtrack is set to release on May 1, 2026, alongside the film’s theatrical premiere. Beyond the lead single from Gaga and Doechii, the album is expected to feature a mix of legendary icons and rising stars to reflect the film’s “old guard vs. new guard” theme.

• Returning Legends: Remixed classics from Chaka Khan and Donna Summer to honor the magazine’s history.

• Modern Icons: Confirmed tracks from Tyla, Troye Sivan, and Charli XCX.

• Original Scores: A revitalized orchestral score by the film’s original composer to maintain that nostalgic Devil Wears Prada tension.

While “Runway” is currently featured in the final trailer, a full digital release is expected within the coming week to build momentum for the film’s opening weekend. With the movie’s marketing campaign already launching limited-edition physical copies of Runway Magazine across major cities, the song is poised to become the unofficial theme for “The A-List” social media trends this spring.
