The passing of beloved Howard Stern Show fixture Ronnie “Big Black” Benjamin has left fans and friends mourning the loss of the iconic Wack Packer. In the wake of his passing, close friend and fellow Wack Packer Lawrence Coward spoke out about their final interactions.

According to Coward, who spoke with Big Black roughly two weeks prior to his death, there were no outward signs of declining health. During a phone call discussing a potential upcoming live YouTube discussion for fans of the show, Big Black was described as completely “fine” and “extra giggly,” laughing and joking around just as he always did.

The New York City Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed that Big Black passed away at age 64 from natural causes due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

Though not a regular daily fixture, Big Black captured the hearts of millions through his memorable, vulnerable, and humorous segments alongside Howard Stern and Robin Quivers. His intelligence, sharp wit, and willingness to share his life experiences cemented his status as one of the most unforgettable personalities in the history of the show.
