Actor and musician Donald Glover (also known as Childish Gambino) revealed during a performance on Saturday, November 22, 2025, that he suffered a stroke in 2024, which forced him to cancel his ‘New World Tour.’
Glover told the audience at Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival that he experienced a “really bad pain” in his head and blurry vision during a show in Louisiana. A subsequent hospital visit in Houston revealed the diagnosis.
Crucially, he added that further tests revealed doctors “found a hole in my heart,” a congenital defect that required him to undergo two separate surgeries and prolonged his recovery. The health scare gave him a new perspective on life, stating, “They say everybody has two lives, and the second life starts when you realize you have one.”
