Country music legend Dolly Parton has been laid to rest following a brief battle with cancer at age 80. Honouring her explicit personal wishes, the “9 to 5” singer was remembered during a small, private funeral service in Nashville attended only by her immediate family.
Known throughout her multi-decade career for her dazzling rhinestone costumes and trademark glamour, Parton chose a simple and comfortable farewell.
Plush Cotton Comfort: Before her passing, Parton told her nephew and longtime head of security, Bryan Seaver, that after a lifetime spent wearing heavy rhinestones, she wished to be laid to rest in a comfortable, plush cotton dress.
Reunited With Her Husband: Parton was interred at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville beside her husband of 58 years, Carl Dean, who passed away in March 2025.
Private Gathering: In line with her directives, no public memorial was held, allowing her closest relatives to mourn her legacy in privacy.
Tributes continue to pour in globally from fans, world leaders, and fellow musicians honoring Parton’s unmatched musical career and philanthropic endeavors, including her famous Imagination Library literacy program.
