The world of alternative science and the “disclosure” movement is in shock following the tragic passing of David Wilcock. The 53-year-old author, YouTuber, and frequent Ancient Aliens commentator died on Monday, April 20, 2026, following an incident at his residence in Nederland, Colorado. The David Wilcock cause of death has been confirmed by the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office as a self-inflicted wound occurring during a mental health crisis.

According to official reports from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, emergency services received a 911 call at approximately 10:44 a.m. regarding an “unknown problem” on the 1400 block of Ridge Road. The emergency dispatcher suspected the caller was experiencing a mental health crisis.

When deputies arrived on the scene at 11:02 a.m., they encountered a male outside the residence holding a weapon. Within minutes of their arrival, the individual used the weapon on himself. He was pronounced dead at the scene. While the coroner’s office has not yet officially released the name, U.S. Representative Anna Paulina Luna and fellow researchers have confirmed Wilcock’s passing.

David Wilcock was a towering, if controversial, figure in the paranormal community. He gained international fame for his theories on:

• Ancient Civilizations: He was a staple on the History Channel’s Ancient Aliens, where he explored the intersection of extraterrestrial life and human history.

• The Source Field: His best-selling books, including The Source Field Investigations and The Synchronicity Key, attempted to bridge the gap between quantum physics and spirituality.

• The Cayce Connection: One of his most enduring claims was that he was the reincarnation of the “Sleeping Prophet,” Edgar Cayce—a belief supported by some of his most dedicated followers

In the days leading up to the tragedy, Wilcock’s social media activity took a concerning turn. On April 19, he posted a final message to his followers on X (formerly Twitter), stating: “Always remember that the Creator is within — and we live in a loving universe.”

Following his death, whistleblower and frequent collaborator Corey Goode alleged that Wilcock had been suffering from intense “cyberstalking and harassment” that had “destroyed his life.” These claims have sparked a massive discussion within the UFO community regarding the mental health toll faced by researchers in the public eye.

David Wilcock is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and a global community of millions who looked to him for answers about the universe’s greatest mysteries.
