The U.S. Coast Guard has launched a major rescue operation off the coast of Nantucket, Massachusetts, following the sudden disappearance of a medical transport aircraft. The flight, carrying six individuals on board, vanished from radar early Saturday morning.
The aircraft a Canadian-registered Gulfstream G100 air ambulance operated by Latitude Air Ambulance with tail number C-GRJP—departed from L.F. Wade International Airport in Bermuda late Friday night. It was traveling to Boston Logan International Airport when the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) lost all radar and transponder contact with the flight around 2:00 a.m. local time.
Federal authorities, including Coast Guard air and surface crews, have mobilized extensive search efforts in the Atlantic waters south of Nantucket. Investigators continue to evaluate tracking metrics and coordinate rescue protocols as the active mission unfolds.
