Just days after its public unveiling, the newly erected memorial statue honoring late conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk has been targeted in a shocking act of vandalism.
Located outside Turning Point USA’s Phoenix headquarters, the eight-foot bronze memorial was heavily defaced overnight, drawing immediate outrage from organization leadership and supporters.
The Damage: Vandals smeared bright red paint across the statue’s face and neck, drawing a crude expression on the chest. Additionally, a nearby sign bearing Kirk’s image and a Christian tribute had the name “Jesus” crossed out and “Satan” scrawled across the display.
Timing of the Attack: The destructive incident occurred merely days after the statue was installed to mark the one-year anniversary of Kirk’s tragic assassination.
Leadership Response: TPUSA Chief Executive Officer Erika Kirk, widow of the late activist, fired back with a defiant statement vowing that the vandalism would not erase her husband’s legacy or silence Christians, declaring that they will clean up the mess and rebuild.
Law enforcement officials with the Phoenix Police Department responded to the scene and launched an active investigation into the overnight crime. Meanwhile, TPUSA representatives confirmed that the team quickly rallied to restore the memorial back to pristine condition, signaling that the organization refuses to back down in the wake of the hostility.
