Legendary actress Barbara Eden sparked widespread concern after pulling out of a scheduled public appearance at the 62nd annual Cinecon Classic Film Festival in Los Angeles.
The 95-year-old I Dream of Jeannie star was slated to attend the festival to receive the prestigious Cinecon Legacy Award. However, festival organizers issued a statement on Facebook announcing her absence.
Organizers’ Statement: “We’re sorry to share that, due to a sudden illness, Barbara Eden will no longer be able to appear in person at Cinecon tonight,” the statement read. “Barbara is deeply regretful that she had to cancel at the last minute, as she had been very much looking forward to seeing everyone and celebrating with us.”
Award Acceptance: Despite her absence, the festival proceeded with honoring her. Her former All Hands on Deck co-star, Pat Boone, stepped in to accept the Legacy Award on her behalf following a screening of the 1961 film.
