Grammy-winning musician and actor André “3000” Benjamin has officially joined the cast of Netflix’s upcoming live-action series Scooby-Doo: Origins. Netflix confirmed that Benjamin, along with Oscar-nominated actress Cathy Moriarty, has been tapped for a recurring role in the high-profile adaptation currently filming in Atlanta.
Created by showrunners Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg, the eight-episode series reimagines how the Mystery Inc. gang first crossed paths during their final summer at camp. While specific details regarding Benjamin’s role are being kept strictly under wraps, the narrative follows teenage Shaggy and Daphne getting caught up in a supernatural murder mystery tied to a lost Great Dane puppy.
Star-Studded Core Four: Mckenna Grace leads as Daphne Blake, alongside Tanner Hagen as Shaggy Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley, and Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones.
