A potential leak of the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 has emerged, courtesy of third-party accessory maker Dbrand. The Canadian company, known for its custom gaming accessories, recently launched a “Switch 2 Killswitch” carrying case, which includes images suggesting some intriguing design changes for the upcoming console.
The leak is stirring excitement among Nintendo fans, who have been eagerly awaiting news on a Switch successor as the current model enters its eighth year of success. The case, which houses a console with notable design differences compared to the existing Switch and Switch OLED models, hints at new features like an extra button on the right-side Joy-Con, distinct from the current “Home” button.
Dbrand’s CEO, Adam Ijaz, confirmed that the design in the case matches that of the Switch 2, though it’s unclear how the company obtained this information. As an accessory maker, Dbrand likely received early details to tailor its products for the new hardware, giving it a possible inside look at the next-generation console.
This isn’t the first time an accessory manufacturer has accidentally revealed details about the Switch 2. Just days ago, Satisfye, another accessory brand, uploaded a blurry trailer for a Switch 2 accessory, further fueling rumors.
While Nintendo has yet to officially announce the Switch 2, these leaks suggest exciting changes that could address long-standing issues with the current model, building anticipation for the console’s eventual reveal.
