YSL rapper Yak Gotti, born Deamonte Kendrick, was reportedly stabbed during an altercation inside Fulton County Jail over the weekend. The incident, which occurred in the South Annex facility in Union City, Georgia, left Yak with minor injuries.
According to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Yak Gotti received medical treatment and required 4-5 staples for a scalp wound but was not hospitalized. Authorities are still investigating the attack to determine the aggressor and any potential charges.
The timing of the stabbing raised eyebrows, as it came shortly after music executive Wack 100 shared a video online, accusing Yak of cooperating with authorities in the ongoing YSL trial. The clip, which allegedly shows Yak in an interrogation room enjoying fast food, has fueled speculation that he may have turned against Young Thug and others in the case.
Yak’s attorney, Doug Weinstein, stated that while the injuries were non-life-threatening, the rapper continues to face challenges as the YSL trial unfolds.
This isn’t Yak Gotti’s first controversy behind bars—his mother was previously caught attempting to smuggle contraband into jail for him.
The YSL trial, which has gripped the hip-hop community, continues to see dramatic developments, with Yak Gotti’s latest incident adding to the chaos surrounding the case.
