Jennifer Lopez is redefining her holiday traditions in the wake of her divorce from Ben Affleck. The superstar, who officially filed for divorce in September 2024, shared that this holiday season will be all about family, relaxation, and creating cherished memories.
Speaking to People, Lopez reflected on her whirlwind year, admitting that she’s eager to slow down and enjoy time with her loved ones. “It was a pretty intense year for me,” she said. “I’m most looking forward to spending time with my kids and my family coming out from the East Coast. The holidays have always been special since I was a little girl, and I can’t wait to just relax, have fun, and make new memories.”
The actress and singer is likely to host the celebrations at her Beverly Hills mansion, which she shared with Affleck before listing it for sale earlier this year. While the home remains unsold, it will still serve as a cozy gathering place for Lopez’s parents, Guadalupe and David, her sisters, Lynda and Leslie, and her twins, Max and Emme Muniz.
Lopez emphasized the importance of reconnecting during the festive season, saying, “We don’t get to see each other all year, so the holidays are a beautiful time to catch up, laugh, and just enjoy being together.”
Though she’s entering the season as a single woman, her friends and family are reportedly encouraging her to start dating again. A source revealed to Entertainment Tonight that Lopez is focusing on healing and moving forward but added, “Her loved ones want to see her find her happily ever after.”
Meanwhile, Ben Affleck is also gearing up for a family-centered holiday, likely spending time with his three kids, Violet, Fin, and Samuel, whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Affleck has remained on good terms with Garner, and sources hint that he may be back on the dating scene, focusing on self-improvement and exploring new relationships.
As for Lopez, it’s clear her priorities lie with family, reflection, and creating joyful moments—proof that even amidst major life changes, she’s embracing the spirit of the season.
