Veteran actors Prince Jide Kosoko, Otunba Adebayo Salami, and Patience Ozokwo are set to receive honorary doctorate degrees in Theatre Arts and Media Production from Achievers Networks UK Academy. The ceremony will take place on November 30, 2024, at the Aderinokun Lecture Theatre, University of Lagos, Akoka.
These iconic figures have made significant contributions to the Nigerian movie industry, captivating audiences for decades with their exceptional talent and dedication.
Jide Kosoko, a household name since the 1980s, is celebrated for his versatility as an actor, director, and producer. His illustrious career has earned him numerous accolades, including a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello, is another legend whose impact on the Nigerian film industry spans several decades. Renowned for his roles in numerous films, Salami is also a respected director and producer, credited with creating some of the industry’s most successful productions.
Patience Ozokwo, beloved for her memorable performances, has also played a vital role in shaping Nollywood. Her talent and longevity have made her a cornerstone of the industry.
The honorary degrees are part of Achievers Networks UK Academy’s tradition of recognizing individuals who have excelled in their respective fields and made meaningful societal contributions. Other honorees include Dr. Kehinde T. Oluwafunmilayo, Olukilede Babatola Joseph, and Dr. Mohammed Argungu Lawal.
