Akwa Ibom-based evangelist, Helen Ukpabio, and her daughter Imaobong Elijah have taken legal action against popular Nigerian singer Bloody Civilian. The lawsuit stems from the singer’s alleged defamatory and libelous posts accusing Ukpabio of inciting violence against children and being responsible for cases where children were burned alive.
In response, the Ukpabios, through their legal team Victor Ukut & Co, are demanding a public retraction of the false claims. They have further requested that Bloody Civilian issue an apology, which should be published in ten prominent Nigerian newspapers as well as international media outlets including CNN, Aljazeera, and Fox News.
The lawsuit is seeking a substantial N200 billion in damages for the harm caused by the accusations. The case has sparked widespread attention due to the gravity of the claims and the high-profile nature of those involved.
