Rwanda’s captain, Djihad Bizimana, has boldly stated that his team is not intimidated by the star-studded Super Eagles of Nigeria ahead of their crucial AFCON 2025 qualifying clash.

Speaking to the media, Bizimana acknowledged the strength of the Nigerian team, which boasts players from top European leagues, but maintained that Rwanda is prepared for the challenge.

Nigeria has big players, all of them playing in Europe, but that is not enough reason for us not to win

Bizimana remarked.

The Amavubi face a daunting task as they must secure a victory to keep their hopes of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations alive. Despite the odds, Bizimana is confident in his team’s determination and resilience.

We want to play in the AFCON next year. So we must fight, and we must win,

he added.

The match promises to be a high-stakes encounter as the Super Eagles, three-time African champions, look to secure their spot in the tournament while Rwanda aims to pull off an upset to keep their dreams alive.
