Popular Nollywood actress, Bimbo Akintola, recently opened up about why she has remained unmarried, citing the heartbreaking loss of her “forever love.” In an emotional interview with actor Emmanuel Ehumadu, the 54-year-old actress explained that the man she believed she could spend the rest of her life with passed away.
When asked about her marital status, Akintola responded, “He died… I don’t talk about it but he died. It took me a very long time to find him, and now he’s gone.” She went on to express her belief that marriage shouldn’t be pursued simply for the sake of societal expectations, adding, “I don’t believe that you get married for marriage’s sake. If you are not going to be truthful to your vows, then why are you doing it?”
The actress emphasized her commitment to living authentically, saying, “I’m too old to ignore red flags, and I won’t get married just to make others happy.” She stressed the importance of living truthfully and making decisions for oneself, not to appease societal pressures.
Although Akintola is open to the idea of remarrying, she admitted that she hasn’t found anyone else she feels the same connection with. “If I ever see someone and I see forever with that person, I will do it, even if I’m 82,” she concluded.
