Kevin Hart is asking a judge to intervene in his court battle with his ex-assistant, Miesha Shakes. According to court documents, the comedian wants to prevent the woman from his infamous sex tape, Montia Sabbag, from taking the stand. The filing came days after Shakes named Sabbag as a potential witness who could testify in her case, saying Sabbag may speak about the scandal and her ensuing legal war with Hart over the tape.

The Kevin Hart lawsuit centers on an interview Shakes did with blogger Tasha K, where she discussed Hart’s personal life. Hart claims Shakes violated a non-disclosure agreement she signed when she left his company, where she worked from 2017 to 2020. Shakes argues the NDA is not enforceable because she claims Hart didn’t comply with his own obligations under the deal.

In his new filing, Hart says Shakes did not consult his legal team about her witness list before submitting it, which he claims is improper. He believes she named Sabbag to embarrass him and create a scandal, and he asked the court not to allow Shakes to call irrelevant witnesses. Hart insists only he, Shakes, and Tasha K are relevant to the case. He is seeking unspecified damages for reputational harm.
