Diddy’s Release Date Pushed Back to March 2028 After Prison Investigation

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ projected release date has shifted again. Bureau of Prisons records now list March 2, 2028, several weeks later than the January 21 date previously shown. A spokesperson for Combs said, “We are never given any explanation for how the BOP calculates or adjusts projected release dates, so we cannot speak to the reason for any change”.

The Diddy release date change comes after reports alleged that Combs received special treatment while incarcerated at FCI Fort Dix. According to an NBC News report, four anonymous inmates claimed Combs paid thousands of dollars a month for fellow prisoners to cook, clean, do laundry, and provide massages. The report also alleged access to a contraband cellphone, premium liquor, and an antidepressant known as Remeron. Combs’ representative disputed the framing, saying: “The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs’ life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news”.

Combs was subsequently returned to solitary confinement while prison officials investigated the situation. This is not his first time in the Special Housing Unit; he spent time there in July after a fight with another inmate. Combs is serving a 50-month sentence after his July 2025 conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges. His release date has changed at least nine times since his sentencing, with the latest shift adding 41 days.
