Ben Affleck is making it clear that he remains one of Jennifer Lopez’s biggest supporters. In a candid new profile with Variety, the Argo star opened up about his deep admiration for his ex-wife’s artistic range, addressing how her stellar performances have frequently been overlooked by major award bodies.
Reflecting on Lopez’s acclaimed cinematic turns, including high-profile snubs during awards season, Affleck did not hesitate to champion her talent.
“I’m biased. I have an enormous amount of respect and admiration for what she can do,” Affleck shared with the publication.
Affleck went on to offer a broader critique of Hollywood’s awards ecosystem, pointing out that commercial success and critical gold standards do not always align. Describing the industry as subjective, he noted that awards ultimately come down to voting preferences rather than definitive metrics of artistic truth.
Despite the conclusion of their marriage, Affleck has consistently used public platforms to commend Lopez’s professional work and dedication. Whether collaborating behind the scenes through production ventures or praising her dynamic screen presence in projects like Kiss of the Spider Woman, Affleck continues to solidify a narrative of mutual respect long after parting ways.
