Kylie Jenner is continuing her acting journey. After her critically praised cameo in Charli XCX’s The Moment, the beauty mogul is set to star in and executive produce Bachelorette Weekend, a new thriller series coming to Hulu . The Kylie Jenner Bachelorette Weekend project marks her first major scripted acting role, and she’s executive producing it alongside her sister, Kim Kardashian.
The series is based on an unpublished novel by Flora Collins and adapted for television by Lauren Oliver, the bestselling author behind Before I Fall and the Delirium trilogy . The plot follows a bachelorette weekend that turns deadly when the bride, played by Jenner, is found murdered in the pool, leaving her closest girlfriends as the prime suspects. Although Jenner’s character dies, her role is described as the series’ “North Star,” with the mystery reconstructing the events that led to her death.
According to reports, Kim Kardashian suggested her sister for the role. The script was initially sent to Kim as a potential producing project through her first-look deal with 20th Television, and she “felt it was a great starring vehicle for Kylie and passed it onto her with both quickly coming on board” . The project is nearing a straight-to-series order at Hulu. This continues the Kardashian-Jenner family’s expanding television footprint, following Kim’s starring roles in American Horror Story and All’s Fair.
