The custody battle between Hollywood stars Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez has taken a dramatic turn. Berry is fiercely denying allegations brought forward by Martinez, who successfully requested a temporary restraining order (TRO) and temporary custody of their 12-year-old son, Maceo-Robert Martinez.
According to legal filings, Martinez claimed that Berry physically abused their son during an altercation on Saturday, September 26. Court documents allege that Maceo contacted his father afterward, claiming his mother put him in a chokehold while he was playing a virtual reality game. The filing also references past disputes and text messages sent by Berry following the incident. Berry’s legal team has strongly contested the claims, calling them entirely meritless.
Within hours of the reports breaking, a Los Angeles County judge granted Martinez’s request for a temporary restraining order requiring Berry to stay 100 yards away from him. However, the court did not block Berry from seeing her child entirely, permitting court-ordered visitation two days a week and every other weekend ahead of an upcoming October 16 hearing. As both sides prepare for court, legal representatives continue to speak out on the developing situation.
