The high-profile and deeply tragic legal battle surrounding the death of Nolan Wells has taken another explosive turn. Attorneys representing three individuals who were with Wells prior to his passing are firing back against public claims that their clients tampered with evidence, signaling plans to file a defamation lawsuit against the family’s civil rights attorney, Ben Crump.

Following a news conference held by the family’s legal team, tension has escalated regarding the digital footprint left on Wells’ cellular device.

The Forensic Claims: A forensic examiner hired by Wells’ family stated that text and social media messages were removed from the device sometime after its last active use on July 4.

The Defense Response: Edward Andrew Paltzik and Tyler Cox, representing Warren Hudson, Jax Pitalo, and Morgan Seymour, firmly denied that their clients had any hand in deleting data. Paltzik emphasized that the young men never erased anything and lacked physical access to the phone.

According to forensic findings discussed during the case disclosures, social media platforms like Snapchat and Instagram comprised roughly 95% of Wells’ communications. While expert analysis noted that user action was required to clear data, defense counsel maintains that their clients had nothing to do with the missing logs. As both legal camps continue to spar publicly, the ongoing fallout highlights the intense scrutiny surrounding the tragic case.
