Taylor Swift has confirmed the long-speculated Encore project. The pop star announced Tuesday that The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, a deluxe edition of her 2025 album, will be released this Friday, September 25, featuring four new songs. The announcement came alongside the reveal of her new single “Patient Zero,” also arriving Friday, with pre-orders available for 24 hours on her website.
The Life of a Showgirl Encore announcement followed days of cryptic teasing from Swift. She embedded zeros in her social media bios, changing lyrics to read “sh0w business f0r y0u”, and launched a countdown clock that expired Tuesday afternoon. Fans also noticed an anagram hidden in a nonsense phrase she delivered during an Emmys sketch: “Saccharide. Ares. From the vineyard. North or south” spells out “ENCORE”.
The Life of a Showgirl was released in October 2025 and featured 12 tracks, with Swift having previously stated the album would not include additional songs. The deluxe edition’s new material marks a shift from that stance. Swift’s latest release, “Patient Zero,” is expected to serve as the lead single from the Encore project. The album will be available for pre-order and streaming on platforms ahead of Friday’s release.
