MrBeast has built a nearly $10 million village in Ghana designed to give hundreds of children greater access to education, healthcare, clean water, and nutritious meals. The project, named Abna Dakwa Village, is part of a broader effort to address child labor in Ghana’s cocoa-growing communities and create more opportunities for children.
The MrBeast Ghana village includes a school built for over 300 students, a medical clinic, 10 free homes for relocated teachers, a community marketplace, two clean-water towers holding thousands of gallons, off-grid solar power, and a working farm with fish tanks. With support from The Rockefeller Foundation, students will receive free daily meals for the next five years, a proven strategy to keep children in classrooms rather than working on farms.
The initiative is directly tied to MrBeast’s broader mission through his chocolate brand, Feastables. The company sources 100% of its cocoa from Fairtrade-certified cooperatives and pays farmers a living income, addressing the root cause of child labor: poverty. An estimated 1.56 million children work in child labor across Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, where much of the world’s cacao is grown. MrBeast’s nonprofit, Beast Philanthropy, is already working in 11 cocoa-farming communities in eastern Ghana, building schools and providing direct community investment.
