Tupac Killer Keffe D Racked Up Jail Violations Before Trial

Duane “Keffe D” Davis, the man convicted of orchestrating Tupac Shakur’s murder, was apparently a handful behind bars. Records obtained from the Clark County Detention Center detail a slew of alleged violations during his incarceration from his September 2023 arrest through the start of his trial, and several involved violence.

In December 2025, Davis got into a brawl with another inmate in the dayroom while being escorted back to his cell after a visit. The two grappled and threw punches until a corrections officer pepper-sprayed them apart. Another violation in March 2024 saw Davis threaten to punch an officer in the “f—ing face” during an argument over his free time, telling the officer, “Who do you think you are talking to? I have been doing this s—t since before you were born.” He was moved to disciplinary housing for refusing a direct order and threatening staff.

A separate August 2024 incident involved Davis kicking his cell door and calling officers a “piece of s—” after learning he couldn’t make a bail phone call, resulting in a 24-hour lockdown. In another August infraction, officers tried to remove an unauthorized second mattress from his cell, prompting Davis to scream, “This is some bulls—!” A struggle followed, and one officer suffered a scratched knuckle. Davis was found guilty last month of the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur. His sentencing is scheduled for October 13.
