Meghan Markle is giving the world a glimpse of her family’s new chapter. The Duchess of Sussex shared a video Friday showing her and Prince Harry spending time in England with their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, along with their dogs, Pula and Mia. At one point, Archie can be heard cheering on his younger sister in a British accent as she rode a bike. The Meghan Markle family UK return video marks the first public look at the family settling into life across the pond.
The couple arrived in the U.K. on August 26, just a week after news broke that they were relocating to Harry’s home country with their children for an extended period. The move comes six years after the couple stepped down from their royal duties in 2020 and relocated to Montecito, California. Sources say the move is expected to be temporary, they are keeping their Montecito home and have no plans to sell their Portugal vacation property. Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, did not make the move with them.
The family’s return has fueled speculation about a royal reconciliation. King Charles met privately with Harry, Meghan, and their children at Highgrove House in July, the first reported meeting between Charles and his grandchildren in more than four years. Despite the return, the King has made clear there has been no change in their royal status. They remain private citizens and are not being welcomed back as working members of the royal family.
