The longtime friends and collaborators attended the men’s semifinals at Arthur Ashe Stadium with their wives, Laura Louie and Camila Alves McConaughey, respectively. The foursome sat together during the match between Alexander Zverev and Karen Khachanov, clearly enjoying the outing as cameras captured them throughout the day.
The McConaughey Harrelson US Open appearance comes as the pair promote their new Apple TV comedy series Brothers, which premieres September 23. The show reunites the actors for the first time since True Detective and plays on real-life speculation that they might share a biological father. In the series, they play fictionalized versions of themselves whose friendship is upended when McConaughey’s mother reveals a decades-old family secret suggesting they could be half-brothers.
The US Open outing was a star-studded affair beyond the Hollywood duo. Other celebrities in attendance included Michelle Obama, Ben Stiller, 2 Chainz, Ciara, and Trinity Rodman, who was on hand to support Ben Shelton’s semifinal victory over Frances Tiafoe. Shelton advanced to his first Grand Slam final, where he will face Alexander Zverev on Sunday. Harrelson and McConaughey’s double date added a touch of Hollywood glamour to an already electric atmosphere in New York.
