Rapper Sexyy Red is facing major legal consequences as a high-stakes civil suit moves forward.
The lawsuit stems from an incident originally filed in March 2025 by Nicole Barnes, the 51-year-old paternal grandmother of one of the rapper’s children.
The Allegations: Barnes alleged that the artist shared her home address and a photo of her house on Facebook, urging her followers to “kick in the door” and carry out acts of violence.
The Fallout: Barnes stated that the terrifying ordeal forced her and her family to relocate for safety, leading to claims of assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligence.
Legal documents show that Barnes filed a motion for a default judgment requesting the full $5 million.
Failure to Respond: According to the plaintiff’s legal team, the “Pound Town” rapper failed to respond to the lawsuit by the required deadlines after being served.
Defense Response: Representatives for Sexyy Red have strongly pushed back against the claims, with her defense attorney calling the allegations “baseless and completely without merit” and stating that the artist “categorically denies these allegations and looks forward to defending herself in court.”
A judge has yet to issue a final ruling on the default judgment motion.
