Miley Cyrus is kicking off a new chapter. The Grammy-winning singer has announced her highly anticipated tenth studio album, ‘Bass Persuades’, set for release on September 18 via Atlantic Records. This marks her first project under the label.
The 33-year-old pop star made the announcement on social media on Tuesday, September 1, where she also reflected on the meaning behind the album’s title.
“Music takes hold of us. We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet, and strong. Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between. That’s what the title means to me. Thank you for being a part of making my wildest dreams come true. I sincerely hope you love this album.”
The 10-track album includes songs such as “Different Religion” featuring Model/Actriz and “Neon Signs” featuring Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow.
In a move that signals a fresh start, Miley has dropped her famous last name and now goes simply by “Miley” . She updated her social media handles to reflect the change ahead of the album announcement. The shift follows the recent passing of her godmother, Dolly Parton, to whom she paid tribute in an emotional Instagram post.
Alongside the album, Miley has confirmed a return to the live stage with two headline concerts at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 16 and 18. The limited engagement will feature support from rock band Model/Actriz.
Tickets go on sale starting with an American Express presale on September 8, followed by an artist presale on September 9, with the general sale opening September 10.
