BLACKPINK’s LISA has officially announced her next solo musical project, sending fans into a frenzy. The singer revealed on August 24 that her new EP, ‘PRESS PLAY,’ will be released on October 23.
The six-track project will be led by the single “SaWaDiKa,” which is set to drop on September 3. The title is derived from the Thai greeting “Sawasdee ka,” signaling a deeply personal return to her roots. According to a press release, the EP is a celebration of her journey and a reminder of where it all began, described as “LISA at her most personal, honoring her roots in Thailand and her rise as a global icon”.
The announcement caps a carefully staged rollout that began days earlier. LISA updated her Instagram bio to direct fans to a new website, hellosawadika.com, which featured a countdown ending August 24 alongside a selection for fans to sign up for updates. The campaign expanded into the real world as matching promotional billboards displaying “HELLO” appeared across Bangkok. She had also previously teased fans with cryptic social media posts, including unusual capitalization that sparked hidden message theories.
The EP will be released through RCA Records under exclusive license from Lloud Co.. Pre-orders for the EP are already available, and fans can also pre-save the six-track release ahead of its October debut. PRESS PLAY arrives as LISA continues to build on her solo career following her debut studio album Alter Ego in 2025, which debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200.
