Reality television personality and social media figure Sidney Starr is formally petitioning a Fulton County judge for bond following her arrest on multiple serious felony charges involving a minor. The former Love & Hip Hop: New York and Baddies ATL cast member was taken into custody on August 2 at an Embassy Suites hotel near Atlanta and remains at the Fulton County Jail without bond.
Starr, whose legal name is Sidney Favors, faces severe accusations including sexual battery against a child under 16, aggravated child molestation, and sodomy. According to arrest warrants, Starr allegedly told investigators she performed oral sex on a boy at the hotel. Under Georgia law, a person under 16 cannot legally consent to sexual activity, so Starr’s claim that the encounter was consensual does not serve as a defense. The Hapeville Police Department has referred the case to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office and is not releasing further details due to the involvement of a juvenile.
Starr’s legal team is pushing for her release ahead of her next scheduled court date on August 25, arguing that she poses neither a danger to the community nor a flight risk. In court documents, her team cites her ties to Chicago, where she says she has lived her entire life, her work in the television industry, and her lack of criminal history. The filing also states that Starr is “indigent” and cannot afford more than a “nominal” bond amount . Starr has publicly denied the allegations, stating that “allegations should not be mistaken for fact, and public opinion should never replace due process”.
