KATSEYE is down to four, for now. Lara, Megan, Daniela, and Yoonchae headlined LA’s Head In The Clouds Festival over the weekend, marking their first performance since Sophia officially announced she’s temporarily stepping back from the group. The quartet delivered a high-energy set, with Lara telling the crowd, “We are so happy to be here”.
The performance came just days after HYBE x Geffen announced that Sophia’s hiatus will be extended while she prioritizes her “mental health and wellness”. She had previously missed the Hinterland Music Festival due to “illness,” but the label’s Friday announcement confirmed she needs “dedicated time for extended rest and ongoing care to ensure a full recovery”. Sophia added, “It truly breaks my heart to have to miss out on a lot”. Manon has also been on hiatus since February for undisclosed reasons.
Despite the absence of two members, the group’s performance at the Los Angeles festival was well-received. A full recovery timeline for Sophia remains unclear, and the label plans to reassess her progress in September. KATSEYE’s scheduled performances for the rest of the year remain in place for the time being.
