Ariana Grande is celebrating a major chart milestone, and she stuns with the trophy to prove it. Her latest album, Petal, has officially debuted at #1 on the UK’s Official Albums Chart, marking her sixth consecutive album to top the UK charts. Her chart-topping run includes Dangerous Woman (2016), Sweetener (2018), Thank U, Next (2019), Positions (2020), and Eternal Sunshine (2024).
The album, her eighth studio project, had a strong opening week with 47,889 total consumption units, which is actually 25.34% higher than the opening week of its predecessor, Eternal Sunshine. This impressive debut is fueled by 28,197 physical copies and significant streaming numbers, securing its place as the second-best opening week of her career in the UK.
The chart triumph comes at a significant moment in her career. Grande is set to begin the UK leg of her Eternal Sunshine Tour, which includes a sold-out, 10-night residency at London’s O2 Arena starting August 15. The success also has her in high spirits, as she has been seen proudly posing with the #1 trophy for her milestone achievement.
In addition to the album’s success, Grande has also placed three tracks on the Official Singles Chart: “Hate That I Made You Love Me” at No. 3, the title track “Petal” at No. 4, and “Kiss Me” at No. 15. The album’s performance is a strong start, especially as it precedes her planned step back from the public eye after the tour concludes in September.
