Stefon Diggs is firing back at his male sexual assault accuser. The Washington Commanders receiver has filed court docs opposing Christopher Griffith’s effort to amend his countersuit, calling the accusations “false allegations” made “for the purpose of garnering media attention”.

Griffith claims Diggs sexually assaulted him at his home in 2023 and then had family members and friends beat him up a week later. Diggs has consistently denied the allegations. In his new filing, he argues his social media comment, “Mamas a n**** lying on my name because he got caught stealing”, was not defamatory because it was true.

Diggs accuses Griffith of mischaracterizing documents and relying on “innuendo and selective snippets” to serve his “attempts to amplify media attention.” He points to Griffith’s appearances on pop-culture podcasts like “No Jumper” and VladTV as evidence of a publicity campaign. The 31-year-old receiver, who just signed a one-year deal worth up to $12 million with the Commanders, is fighting to have the case thrown out.

The legal battle shows no signs of slowing down. Griffith’s team maintains their client’s claims are credible and backed by evidence. For now, both sides are digging in as the case moves forward in court.
