Whitney Houston’s personal archives are being opened for a special charity auction. The Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation 2026 Auction, in partnership with Julien’s Auctions, will take place on August 11, featuring 53 items from the legendary singer’s estate. Every dollar raised will directly benefit the foundation’s scholarships, community programs, and initiatives supporting young people and families.
Among the most notable pieces is an RIAA-certified nine-times Platinum sales award for Houston’s 1987 hit “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” estimated to sell for between $3,000 and $5,000. Fans can also bid on the mini dress Houston wore during the 1988 American Music Awards, a striking red leather Versace outfit from the 1999 “VH1 Divas” concert, a Burberry coat from her “Nothing but Love” world tour, and a Dolce & Gabbana gown connected to her “My Love Is Your Love” tour.
Other personal items include a gold-plated Social Security card, personalized MCM luggage, jewelry, a Montblanc pen, and a Richard Avedon portrait that once hung inside Houston’s office. A special preview of auction highlights will be on display at the foundation’s 5th Annual Legacy of Love Gala on August 8, what would have been Houston’s 63rd birthday, featuring a performance by Babyface.
