Megan Thee Stallion has officially secured her first Diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for her blockbuster 2020 collaboration with Cardi B, “WAP”. The certification, confirmed on August 3, 2026, recognizes more than 10 million units sold and streamed in the United States, arriving just days before the song’s sixth anniversary.
The sexually explicit anthem debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking the first collaboration between female rappers to open atop the chart. It also delivered the largest opening streaming week in U.S. history at the time, with 93 million streams in its first seven days. The song spent four weeks at No. 1 and became the first track to top Billboard’s newly launched Global 200 chart.
For Megan, the achievement represents a significant career milestone. While Cardi B previously earned Diamond status with “Bodak Yellow” in 2021, “WAP” now gives the Houston rapper her first Diamond plaque. The song had previously been certified five-times Platinum in March 2021, and has been steadily climbing toward Diamond eligibility ever since. The certification extends Cardi’s record as the female rapper with the most Diamond-certified singles, now totaling four.
