Social media influencer Kate Cassidy is setting the record straight after receiving criticism for beginning the process of lasering off a tribute tattoo dedicated to her late boyfriend, Liam Payne.
After sharing videos documenting her laser removal session for the “444” angel number on her hand a piece originally done following the former One Direction singer’s tragic passing Cassidy addressed online speculation claiming she was trying to “erase” his memory.
Responding directly via TikTok to a comment claiming “she don’t love him no more,” the 27-year-old explained that the removal is purely aesthetic, as the original artwork turned out much thicker and bulkier than intended
“The only reason that I am lasering off these tattoos is literally just because they are too thick for my liking. The meaning behind all of my tattoos are so, so special to me. I am not lasering them off for any other means other than the fact that I’m gonna get them redone somewhere else that has experience in fine line tattoos.”
Aesthetic Preference: Cassidy revealed the piece was one of her first tattoos, done at a random shop where she originally asked for a delicate, fine-line finish.
Plans to Redo: She reassured fans that the tribute isn’t gone permanently and that she fully intends to get the meaningful “444” angel number which represented protection and support in her relationship with Payne re-inked by a specialist.
Other Tributes Intact: The influencer continues to wear several other permanent honors to the late artist, including angel wings, the initials “LP” on her wrist, a wilted rose on her thumb, and the number four on her ring finger.
Cassidy, who has been candid about her grieving process following Payne’s death, emphasized that her decision is about reclaiming something deeply personal rather than letting go of her cherished memories. As she continues to rebuild her life, she asked followers to understand that the tribute remains deeply special to her heart.
