Megan Moroney was forced to cut short her Denver concert on Tuesday night after falling ill, leaving the stage just three songs into her performance at Ball Arena. The country star, who is currently on her Cloud 9 Tour, addressed the crowd directly, telling fans she was “extremely sick” and couldn’t continue.
“That was the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make,” Moroney wrote in a statement to fans. “I am absolutely heartbroken. I wanted nothing more than to give y’all the show y’all deserved”. The singer performed “Stupid,” “Medicine,” and “Bless Your Heart” before making the difficult call to end the show early.
Moroney took to social media to express her devastation and gratitude for her fans’ understanding. “Denver, I am so, so sorry. I have never had to do anything like this before,” she wrote. She assured fans that the show has been rescheduled for August 27, and all tickets will be honored for the new date. “I hope y’all can make it. I promise I will make it up to you. I love y’all so much”.
The Denver stop was part of Moroney’s headlining Cloud 9 Tour, which launched earlier this summer in support of her latest album, Am I Okay? The tour has been met with overwhelming demand, with multiple shows selling out across the country. Moroney’s rise in country music has been meteoric, with hits like “Tennessee Orange” and “I’m Not Pretty” earning her a devoted fanbase.
